Premier Li Qiang Visits WorldSkills Expo, Where SenseTime Presents Its Technologies and Applications
On the morning of September 23, 2026, Premier Li Qiang attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the 2026 WorldSkills Conference in Shanghai.
Before the ceremony, Premier Li visited the WorldSkills Expo and toured the Future Experience Zone. Xu Li, Chairman of the Board and CEO, SenseTime, introduced SenseTime's proprietary artificial intelligence agent Seko and related industrial facilities.
Xu Li explained that SenseTime Seko is the world's first AI video creation agent integrating ideation and production. It brings together SenseTime's comprehensive capabilities in multimodal technology to support the entire AI production workflow, from requirements analysis, creative planning and style definition to final video production. In the year since its launch, SenseTime Seko has attracted more than 1.1 million registered users and over 10,000 active super-creator teams.
With the development of technologies such as AIGC, workflows related to design and content creation are being reshaped. The addition of the 「Digital Interactive Media Design」 category to this year's WorldSkills Competition reflects the competition's close alignment with industry needs and its focus on industrial upgrading.
SenseTime is also responding proactively to the trend toward industrial upgrading. Xu Li noted that in May 2026, SenseTime established the Seko Industrial Hub in Shanghai's Xuhui District, focusing on the AI video sector. Within one quarter, the hub had attracted more than 80 start-ups.
Addressing key challenges in the AI microdrama industry, the Seko Industrial Hub provides creators with integrated support covering training, collaboration, project incubation and connections to industry resources. It is designed to tackle the core challenges faced by small and medium-sized creative teams, including high computing costs, fragmented tools, limited access to distribution channels, information asymmetry and weak monetization pathways.
To promote the healthy development of the industry and cultivate and reserve talent, SenseTime has also developed training courses in AIGC creative design and AI short-video generation. Xu Li said that SenseTime is working with Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai University and other higher-education institutions to establish specialized AIGC practical training bases. SenseTime is also collaborating with human resources authorities at various levels in Shanghai to continuously develop training and assessment programs for emerging occupational skills, including those for all-media operations specialists and animation production technicians.
