SenseTime Develops National AI- Powered School Transportation Platform for Saudi Arabia; Supporting Safe, Intelligent, and Efficient Transportation for More Than 1.2 Million Students

SenseTime (0020.HK) today announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia’s national authority responsible for school transportation operations and management to develop a nationwide AI-powered digital platform for integrated school transportation management. Serving as a core digital infrastructure for student transportation, the platform will support more than 1.2 million students across Saudi Arabia and establish a fully integrated, end-to-end management system covering the entire school journey. By enhancing transportation operations, safety oversight, service coordination, and data management, the platform will provide critical digital infrastructure to support the modernization of Saudi Arabia’s education and public service sectors.

The project represents a major commercial engagement and is designed as a unified national digital infrastructure solution for student transportation. Powered by SenseTime's multimodal large models, big data capabilities, and AI agent technologies, the platform will integrate data across the transportation ecosystem, connecting students, vehicles, drivers, routes, and operational resources within a single intelligent framework. The platform will deliver a comprehensive suite of capabilities, including intelligent operations and dispatching, safety monitoring and alerts, multi-party coordination, national-scale platform management, and data-driven decision support. 

At the heart of the platform is a comprehensive AI engine comprising five core capabilities that support every stage of the student transportation journey:

• Intelligent Operations: Leveraging AI, automation, and real-time scheduling and dispatch capabilities, the platform enables more efficient operations across the network.

   

• Enhanced Safety: Through the integration of AI-powered video analytics and advanced technological mechanisms, the platform enables visibility, management and traceability of students’ journeys, strengthening student transportation safety.

• Integrated Service Coordination: The platform delivers unified service experience for education authorities, schools, transportation operators, parents, drivers, and regulatory agencies, enabling cross-departmental collaboration and seamless information connectivity.

• Scalable Digital Infrastructure: Designed as a national digital infrastructure platform, the system is built on a highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient architecture capable of supporting nationwide operations and regulatory requirements. It also provides a flexible foundation for future expansion and the deployment of new services and applications.

• Intelligent Decision-Making: Combining advanced analytics, operational visualization, and AI-powered insights, the platform provides real-time visibility into transportation performance and supports continuous operational optimization. By enabling data-driven decision-making, it helps shift education transportation management from experience-based administration to intelligent governance, improving the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of public student transportation services.

The project extends well beyond serving more than 1.2 million elementary, middle, and high school students across Saudi Arabia. It is designed to establish a comprehensive, end-to-end digital foundation for the nation’s broader education transportation ecosystem. By connecting and coordinating students, parents, drivers, schools, transportation operators, and regulatory authorities within a unified platform, the system integrates multiple stakeholders, operational processes, and data streams into a single, intelligent framework.
