SenseTime Showcases Smart Health Platform SenseCare at RSNA 2019

2019-12-27

SenseTime showcased the SenseCare Smart Health Platform at the world’s largest medical imaging conference, RSNA 2019, organized by Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). Having already achieved some significant R&D breakthroughs in smart health technology, the RSNA 2019 conference was a remarkable opportunity for SenseTime to showcase the possibilities of AI-powered smart health technologies.

SenseTime’s SenseCare Smart Health Platform is an AI-powered platform which facilitates communication between radiologists, clinicians and patients. Using SenseTime’s deep learning algorithms and image post-processing technology, the platform improves the efficiency of diagnostic procedures by providing real-time 3D rendering, medical image analysis and necessary data for doctors to develop the right treatment plans for patients.

It also supports image browsing on mobile devices, allowing doctors to communicate patients’ medical conditions more conveniently.

Traditionally bone tumour treatment required radiologists, orthopedists and 3D printing engineers to work closely together to create a surgical plan, which usually takes around two weeks. Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital recently adopted the use of the SenseCare platform, and saw increased accuracy of 3D implants, improved treatment efficiency and effectiveness. With SenseCare, the hospital has been able to reduce its treatment preparation time from weeks to less than a minute.

SenseTime also showcased an array of healthcare applications under SenseCare platform at the conference. The SenseCare®-Lung is an application which conducts high-precision multidimensional medical images analysis for lung nodules and facilitates classification. It can also assist doctors in the planning and simulation of endoscopic surgeries by converting the 2D lung images into 3D models.  Other applications include SenseCare®-Bone Tumor, SenseCare®-Lower Limb applications, and SenseCare®-Path were also exhibited. Moving forward, SenseTime will continue to step up R&D efforts in the medical imaging field to introduce more successful medical applications that will benefit the sector and patients.

RSNA 2019, the 105th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting, organised by Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), took place in Chicago on December 1-6. The theme of this year’s conference was “See Possibilities Together”. It aimed to offer medical professionals from around the world an exclusive look at the latest in medical imaging technology. The Radiological Society of North America is a non-profit international organization of radiologists, medical physicists and other medical professionals across the globe.
