2022-05-25

May 25, 2022 – Shanghai – In light of the stabilizing COVID-19 situation in Shanghai, SenseTime announces that its headquarters in Shanghai has gradually resumed its normal operation. SenseTime’s cutting-edge AI technologies have assisted Shanghai’s COVID fight during the outbreak and will continue safeguarding workplaces and communities as people return to normal life.

The first batch of SenseTime employees that has returned to the office were from the digital epidemic prevention, AIDC, smart health, smart auto, R&D and operations teams as well as other key functions, further facilitating SenseTime’s endeavor to fight the epidemic with its leading AI capabilities and empower other businesses and partners to resume normal operation.

Epidemic prevention smart system for employees’ safety and health

In order to protect the safety of employees returning to the office, the SenseThunder-Air “All-in-One” epidemic prevention smart system has been deployed at main entrances of SenseTime headquarters. The system integrates 7 functions - mask detection, temperature screening, health code verification, vaccination record query, nucleic acid report query, E-ID verification function, and the newly added antigen test result query function in response to Shanghai’s latest epidemic control requirements. This contactless system can conduct accurate temperature screening even when people wear masks, and automatically check relevant COVID-19 test records to ensure that all employees and visitors can enter conveniently and safely.

In the past two months, the SenseThunder-Air “All-in-One” system has provided epidemic prevention and control support for a temporary hospital in Baoshan district, the industrial parks of Lingang Group, and many other public places in Changning and Xuhui districts, effectively improving management efficiency and service quality of these places. With the increasing demand for COVID screening after the resumption of work in Shanghai, SenseTime will continuously improve and upgrade the system to provide support for more enterprises during post-epidemic recovery.

In addition, SenseTime has implemented comprehensive safety inspection, strict disinfection procedures, special workplace arrangements and emergency plans to ensure all-round protection for all employees.

Ensuring the stable operation of AIDC

SenseTime’s Artificial Intelligence Data Center (AIDC) is an open, large-scale and energy-efficient advanced computing infrastructure located in the Lingang New Area of Shanghai, which provides the essential computing power for SenseTime to develop advanced AI algorithms that empower various industry verticals. Therefore, the stable operation of AIDC and continuous expansion of its computing capacity are crucial to the development and iteration of SenseTime’s AI applications and guaranteeing service quality for AIDC’s partners.
