IDC Report: SenseTime Seizes Business Opportunities in Generative AI to Capture Second-Largest Market Share for Large Model Platforms in China

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC) report "China Large Language Model Platform Market Share, 2023: The Year of Large Language Models - Initial Situation", SenseTime established itself as a forerunner with the second-largest market share of 16% among large model platform providers in China.

The report primarily attributed SenseTime's leading position in China's large model market to the company's focus on investing in large models and its Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Data Center (AIDC), which provides customers with integrated large model computing and application solutions. IDC emphasized in the report that "continuous investment in foundation models" is crucial for providers to stay competitive, and added that there remains significant room for product innovation in areas such as multimodal large models and scientific computing with large models.

IDC highlighted that SenseTime's core advantage was its combination of the SenseCore computing power solutions and foundation models. SenseTime's "SenseNova" large model series has also undergone multiple enhancements since its initial release in April 2023, which include the introduction of the SenseChat large language model, multimodal large models and edge models, as well as large models for vertical industries like healthcare and finance.

With its forward-looking approach to large model development, SenseTime opened its SenseCore AI infrastructure to public users for computational support. Thereafter, SenseTime’s AIDC began operations in 2022 as a crucial component of the SenseCore AI infrastructure. As one of the largest AI data centers in Asia, AIDC’s total computing power reached 20,000 petaFLOPS as of July 2024.
