Frost & Sullivan and IDC: SenseTime’s SenseNova Foundation Models Among Top Three in China for Performance and Market Share

Frost & Sullivan and IDC have each released reports recognizing SenseTime’s foundation models as one of the top three in China in both performance and market share. The results underscore SenseTime’s achievements in transforming technological advancements into commercial opportunities.

Frost & Sullivan Report: SenseTime’s SenseNova Ranked Among the Top in China for Performance

Frost & Sullivan and LeadLeo Research Institute have jointly released the findings of the “2025 Chinese Foundation Models Benchmark Report”. SenseTime’s SenseNova Unified Large Model (SenseNova) secured top-tier rankings in China for its core capabilities in large language and multimodal models. SenseNova ranked among the highest-performing models across the core capabilities of general foundational capabilities and multimodal image comprehension, taking first place among 16 mainstream foundation models in China. These results underscore SenseTime’s strong foundation and innovative strengths.

General Foundational Capabilities: Leading Across Three Key Areas

The benchmark for general foundational capabilities evaluated three key areas, mathematical and scientific reasoning, language understanding, and ethical risk management. SenseNova demonstrated well-rounded excellence and ranked first overall across all three key areas, surpassing the international average. 

Multimodal Capabilities: A Breakthrough in Image Comprehension and Generation

SenseNova achieved the highest ranking in the multimodal image comprehension evaluation with a score of 84.05. In the evaluation of multimodal image generation, SenseMirage secured leading scores for generation quality, instruction adherence, and style diversity in commercial generation. Its robust technical capabilities and application potential make it well-suited to meet the needs of commercial use cases such as advertising and design.

Professional Application Capabilities: Strong Performance Across Multiple Industries

SenseNova ranked among the top two in professional application capabilities, showcasing strong capabilities in complex decision-making, industry-specific knowledge, and long-context understanding. It also displayed strong results across 14 industry-specific applications, including finance, healthcare, government services, and education, demonstrating deep expertise in industry-specific knowledge and strong application capabilities. It also showcased high adaptability across industries and robust real-world implementation capabilities.

IDC Report: SenseTime Ranks Among China’s Top Three in Large Model Applications

In a recently released report “China Foundation Models and Applications Market Share, 2024: A Landscape in Transformation”, IDC said that China’s the market reached RMB 4.79 billion in 2024. Amid intense competition among technology companies, SenseTime captured a 13.8% market share, placing it among the top three in China’s foundation models and applications market.

The IDC report highlighted that the key factors behind SenseTime’s strong market position were its early and sustained investment in foundation models R&D, as well as its industry-leading model training technology. Additionally, SenseTime’s SenseCore provides ample computing power, enabling innovations in large-scale parallel training and training-inference unification capabilities.
