AI Safeguards the Azure Seas: SenseTime Saudi Launches Sustainable Eco-Intelligence Platform in the Red Sea
At the junction of Asia and Africa lies the breathtaking Red Sea, renowned for its numerous pristine islands, diverse landscapes, and thousands of fish species. It is one of the world’s most unique coral reef ecosystems. In response to Saudi Vision 2030, SenseTime MEA introduced the world’s first AI-powered, one-stop, sustainable eco-intelligence platform: the “AI Eco-360 Analytics Platform” ( the AI Eco-360 Platform). It integrates real-time data from more than 50 environmental and ecological indicators across atmospheric, terrestrial, and underwater ecosystems, providing 360-degree panoramic monitoring and intelligent analysis of the Red Sea region. It delivers actionable sustainable development recommendations to decision-makers, fully supporting ecological protection and resource management, and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s green, sustainable, high-quality development.

The Red Sea, located between Northeast Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, spans more than 438,000 square kilometers. Its coastline is rich with coral reefs, pristine islands, diverse landscapes, and abundant cultural heritage. Most of its islands were formed from coral reef remnants, making it one of the world’s most unique coral reef ecosystems. Renowned for its biodiversity and stunning underwater scenery, it is considered a paradise for diving enthusiasts.
However, the Red Sea ecosystem faces significant threats, such as environmental pollution, marine debris, coral bleaching, red tides, and biodiversity loss. Timely monitoring of environmental, ecological, and species changes, coupled with early warning and intervention, is critical for safeguarding this azure sea. Previously, coral reef surveys relied mainly on marine satellite remote sensing, underwater robots, and manual diving, which made long-term, high-precision tracking and systematic data analysis difficult.
18 Types of Devices Monitoring More Than 50 Environmental Factors
Comprehensive Eco IoT Matrix Across Sea, Land and Air
Leveraging SenseTime’s years of expertise in computer vision and large-scale models, the AI Eco-360 Platform integrates 18 categories of more than 1,000 sensing devices, including satellite remote sensing, tide gauges, underwater drones, and action cameras. This comprehensive eco IoT matrix enables panoramic monitoring of over 50 environmental factors, such as climate, water quality, air, light, and species imagery. It can accurately identify 15 different species, including corals, sea turtles, dolphins, and mangroves.

Fusion of 50+ Types of Multimodal Heterogeneous Data
60% Improvement in Data Analysis and Management Efficiency
Together with its partners, SenseTime developed Hyper-Connect technology to achieve cross-dimensional data fusion, processing more than 50 types of heterogeneous environmental data. Through AI-driven analysis and prediction, the platform enables real-time tracking and analysis of incremental species, endangered species, aquatic mapping, and population trend changes. It provides intuitive real-time visualization of the Red Sea ecosystem, effectively predicting ecological evolution trends and potential risks. This ensures timely protection and management, providing scientific support for decision-making. Compared with traditional methods, the AI Eco-360 Platform improves data transformation efficiency by 60%.

Innovative Coral Reef 3D Digital Twin System
Resolution of up to 5 Millimeters, Early Warning of Red Tide Events
The AI Eco-360 Platform is also the world’s first coral reef 3D digital twin system, with a resolution of up to 5 millimeters. Equipped with multi-scenario predictive models, it can issue early warnings of red tide events, enabling coral conservationists to make informed decisions and respond promptly to ecological threats.

Unlike traditional monitoring and early warning methods, such as manual diving and boat patrols, the AI Eco-360 Platform establishes a complete AI-driven environmental monitoring and management loop. By integrating diverse devices and multimodal data, enabling visualization, AI prediction and analysis, early warning, and assisted decision-making, it addresses critical data gaps in scientific management. This significantly enhances monitoring and early warning capabilities, improves ecological resource management efficiency, and supports the Red Sea region in addressing potential ecological threats, achieving green and sustainable ecosystem development.
