SenseTime Tops China's Vision AI Market for Tenth Consecutive Year Accelerates Global Expansion

Hong Kong, May 21, 2026 — According to the latest report by International Data Corporation (IDC), SenseTime Group (0020.HK) ranked first in China's Vision AI market by share in 2025, maintaining its leading position for a tenth consecutive year. SenseTime noted that its Vision AI business has pioneered the completion of a technology upgrade and set out its commercialisation strategy for Computer Vision 2.0 (CV 2.0), marking a transition into a phase of high-quality, sustainable profitability. The Company will continue to build on Vision AI as its core competency, leveraging growing global interest in "Chinnovation" to support its international expansion.

According to IDC's China AI Software Market report, the computer vision segment is undergoing a phase of technological transformation, transitioning from CV 1.0 to CV 2.0. This shift is broadening the scope of Vision AI from traditional image recognition towards more advanced capabilities, including understanding, search, and content generation.

Vision AI Platform Integrates General and Specialized Intelligence, Advancing Toward Agentic AI

SenseTime highlighted that, as a forerunner in China's Computer Vision field, it has completed the transition to CV 2.0 — next-generation Vision AI architectures with Generative AI capabilities natively embedded. Its core platform, SenseFoundry, has also undergone a "general-specialized integration" upgrade, combining the general reasoning capabilities of the SenseNova large model with industry-specific models. This integrated approach enables the system to address complex and low-frequency long-tail scenarios while maintaining operational efficiency. SenseFoundry is also advancing towards intelligent digital agents, leveraging multimodal interaction and autonomous planning capabilities to bridge visual and industry data, thereby supporting industrial transformation.

SenseTime noted that, over the past decade, it has embedded AI technologies across a broad range of industry verticals, consistently delivering commercial value and establishing a mature model for real-world deployment. SenseFoundry has been deployed in more than 200 cities, serving over 30,000 campuses, buildings, retail outlets, and transportation hubs. Its overseas operations span five key verticals, smart hardware, enterprise operations, healthcare, cultural tourism, and urban governance, forming a scalable and replicable model for China's AI expansion overseas, alongside a comprehensive ecosystem and service framework. As of 2025, the Company's overseas enterprise client base exceeded 500, marking an unprecedented milestone, with retention rates also reaching a record high, positioning SenseTime as one of the benchmark companies among Chinese high-tech enterprises expanding their B2B business overseas.
