SenseTime Receives ISO/IEC 27701:2019 Certification for Privacy Information Management System

Shanghai - Jan 25, 2021 – SenseTime (the “Company”), the world’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) company, has recently received the ISO/IEC 27701:2019 certification for Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) from the British Standards Institution (BSI). This is another milestone in SenseTime’s commitment to protect privacy information in AI applications, following the obtainment of   ISO/IEC 27001 and  ISO/IEC 29151:2017 certifications.

ISO/IEC 27701:2019 is an extension to ISO/IEC 27001 for the PIMS, which acts as a framework for organizations, including enterprises, government entities, non-profit organizations, to safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII). It specifies the requirements and provides guidance for organizations in the establishment, enforcement and continuous improvement of PIMS.

Privacy protection has always been at the core of SenseTime’s business. To safeguard customers’ information and data privacy, the Company established the Data Security and Personal Information Protection Commission to take on responsibilities in drafting, promoting and enforcing privacy guidelines for all products.

Last year SenseTime obtained two international security management certificates simultaneously, including ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for information security management and ISO/IEC 29151:2017 for PII protection.  Meanwhile, it was also graded as Level 3 under China’s Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS) 2.0 for cybersecurity.
