SenseTime Partners with SKY ICT and Thammasat University to Drive Thailand’s AI Education Development

Bangkok – March 30, 2021 – SenseTime, a world’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) company, recently collaborated with Thailand’s leading information technology company, SKY ICT Public Company Limited (“SKY ICT”), and Thammasat University to jointly organise a workshop to equip AI educators with new skillsets for their future courses. A curriculum consisting of online lessons, hands-on training materials, and educational tools was launched concurrently to support the long-term development of educational personnel.

Under the agreement, SKY ICT will provide 2.5 million baht’s worth of user accounts and passwords to access SenseStudy, SenseTime’s proprietary online AI learning platform. “To drive Thailand’s national development, we need a talent pool with strong knowledge, ability, and understanding of AI. Through the curriculum and workshop, we aim to nurture AI professionals to help expand the knowledge of AI nationwide,“ said Mr. Sithidej Mayalarp, Chief Executive Officer of SKY ICT.

“AI is now being applied across a variety of disciplines. However, due to the high investment cost of introducing AI education, the development and popularity of AI education in Thailand are still very limited. We have been in collaboration with various organisations to teach our next generation fundamental AI knowledge, as well as set up an AI centre. Working with SKY ICT and SenseTime, we hope to nurture more AI talents who will form the cornerstone of Thailand’s economy and society,” said Associate Professor Kesinee Withoonchart, Rector of Thammasat University.
